I was unaware that one can still buy "waxed paper". It was common when I was a boy but was soon replaced by 'plastic wrap,' or Saran Wrap, ie real plastic. I'll have to look around for the original wax paper. Great textures... dick g
Thanks! Yeah, I get Reynolds "cut-rite" wax paper. It leaves really neat textures, and I like gouache because you can layer it, so sometimes I have layers and layers of wax paper treated paint on a piece.
I've used plastic wrap for years and have added various thicknesses of other pieces of plastic. I have taken to manipulating (pushing) the plastic with the tips of my fingers (when the paint is still wet) to control the shapes of where the wrap 'lifts off' the paper, leaving a different value. Fun to play with. Thanks for getting back... dick g
